Bashley U12 Indoor Squad on finish on Top - 6 wins out of 6 !

We are delighted to report that the boys finished the group stages of Div 1 of the U12 Dorset indoor league in some style, making in 6 wins out of 6 against a spirited Bournemouth Eagles team. With Bashley batting first again Joshua (25 no) and Daniel (26 no) Bailey set the most solid of platforms for the innings by both stroking their way to retirement seemingly untroubled.

Scott Menary (8) looked to be growing in confidence until a promising knock was prematurely brought to an end a touch unluckily by run out. Will Syms (23 no) was soon dusting off any early season rust with some robust hitting and Jack Harris (9) looked to pick up the pace towards the end of the innings, whilst Sam Presland (10 no) helped scamper the total up to a very respectable 168-2 at the close.

After the changeover the Eagles were soon brought down to earth by a solid Bashley bowling performance and some excellent individual fielding. A nice catch off the wall by Sam from the bowing of Will started the rot and was followed shortly after by Joshua pocketing a wonderful caught and bowled in the very next over from a powerful Eagles drive. Daniel and Scott kept the Eagles on the back foot with some steady bowling before Sam and Jack combined to generate a fine stumping of the Bournemouth no.4. Three late run outs (two from direct hits from Sam and Daniel) closed out the innings off at 112 all out.

So the final league table tells a happy tale for the Bashley U12 boys http://www.dorsetcricketboard.co.uk/node/1549 and congratulations to all of the boys for a campaign of sustained excellence.

Thank you also to Graham Presland for running the indoor squad.

Onwards to finals day.......
